Art Nouveau Tau Shaped Silver Handle in the Form of a Serpent, its Mouth Wide Open with Long Tongue, Its Long Tail Coiled Around a Silver Post, Hallmarked on the Bottom of the Handle, 4-5/8"L x 3-1/2"H. The Silver is Beautifully Chased Showing the Scale Like Pattern of the Skin, Snakewood Shaft (missing ferrule), Ca. 1900, 34-1/2"L. (This cane is possibly the feminine version of cane number 801. See Catherine Dike, "La Canne Objet D'Art" pg. 314, plate 37 for a similar example of both these canes).
